Isla’s Stats:
More words have popped up but mostly this last month has been an adventure into understanding Isla’s temperament. She thinks she’s hilarious. She is also really moody after her naps and wants to snuggle until she fully “wakes up”. She’s learning so much and is trying to count using her fingers. She is learning the ABC song and she has the beginning of the tune down well (the letters sound like gibberish).
Isla is FULLY WEANED. Fully. It took a solid week of Tyler putting her to nap and bed because she always nursed to sleep but now I can put her to bed/nap and just rock/sing to her and she falls asleep. The upside is that she has become so much more attached to Tyler and she loves running to him yelling “Daddy!” when he comes home and she likes snuggling with him. Since weaning she rarely wakes at night and if she does she is easily put back to bed with rocking/cuddling. Isla is still not the biggest fan of bread products but she can handle ribs well!
Potty training has been going so well. This is definitely something Isla started on her own so Ty and I are just going with it. We hadn’t planned on focusing on it yet but since Isla wants to use the potty, we are going along with it. We are only using diapers at night/nap as Isla is doing so well using the potty on her own. She can pull her undies down but she prefers to keep them off which has been a nightmare because she is not doing pooping well. In fact, it’s been a mess. She usually runs to the bathroom after she poops but hasn’t figured out how to sit down before it happens.
There’s been some really sweet changes in her relationship with Caleb and they hug a lot. She also loves trying to kiss him and hold his hand. The flip is that Caleb has done really well with helping and doing things for her. They definitely fight over toys and can get physically aggressive sometimes but it’s not super common.
